The Land Exchange
Before developing the mine near the Town of Superior, we must complete extensive studies and invest over $1 billion in exploratory activities to determine if and how the mine will be feasible. To accomplish this, we need access to lands currently excluded from mining by federal law in and around the Oak Flat area on national forest land. After examining all options, we’ve determined that an exchange of lands described in the Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act will secure the access we need to develop the safest, least-intrusive mine possible. In return, we will donate more than 5,500 acres of high-quality Arizona conservation lands to the United States. This exchange will allow the Resolution Project to proceed, providing long-term economic and social benefits to the people of Arizona while preserving and protecting key conservation areas throughout the state. Support the Land Exchange Act and help secure Arizona's future.
